New beginnings at FutureShop

Provenance founder, Jessi Baker, and Fashion & Lifestyle expert Neliana Fuenmayor, demonstrate Provenance’s tools for traceability and transparency to a FutureShop visitor.

Hello world, I’m Provenance’s Communications Assistant. I joined the team in June for the UCL Advances Summer Internship Programme. So far the internship has taken me on some pretty cool adventures. I visited The Great Yorkshire Show, took part in a photoshoot in Brighton, spent time mapping supply chains at Co-op’s HQ and collaborated with our communication and product designers to organise a pop-up at Arc London’s FutureShop!

What is FutureShop?

FutureShop is held annually at the Arc Chicago offices and first came to London in 2015. The event scopes out the latest retail tech trends and brings some of the most innovative tech companies together for one day.

This was Provenance’s first official exhibit and my first major project. The event was an incredible opportunity for us to demo our tools for traceability and transparency. On the day our founder, Jessi Baker, gave a thought-provoking presentation on the company and importance of Provenance. Highlights included meeting lots of fascinating exhibitors, hearing Amazon’s Head of Agency Development talk about some major retail tech trends and seeing the Provenance pop-up come to life!

A huge thank you to the FutureShop organisers and all of the Provenance community who lent us items for the show!

Spending the summer with Provenance is exciting; I am fortunate to be part of a company that has strong and impressive values. As part of my transparency journey, I will soon be writing about what it’s like to work for a tech start-up and why I think more young people should consider the experience!
